Danbury Elementary prides itself in having an outstanding interactive gardening experience. The "S'cool Garden" boasts a wide range of agricultural installations with which students can interact. The raised beds for vegetables provide a chance for students to plant, tend, and grow food (eat too!). A windmill and rainwater collection system teach children about using natural resources as a long term agricultural solution. The famous chicken coop and bird houses provide an animal experience that students may not have access to in their own backyard. And don't forget the covered pavilion for students to have a hands on agricultural experience!
As our students transition to their new campus in the fall of 2020. Danbury Education Foundation would like to continue this tradition, but we need your help. Some of the garden features can be moved to the new campus while others will need to be built from scratch. Your funds will help us purchase new materials as well as pay for transport of items we can reuse. We would also welcome any material donations such as lumber, soil, plants, etc!
